Add PayPal as a payment method in the ryd app
Learn how to link your PayPal account to the ryd app and use PayPal for future payments.
With PayPal, you can make payments using your existing PayPal account. Once you have linked your account to ryd, PayPal will be available as a payment method in the app.
What is PayPal?
PayPal is a digital payment service that allows you to pay online and in apps. Payments are processed using the payment methods stored in your PayPal account.
Depending on your PayPal security settings, PayPal may require an additional verification step during setup, for example a code sent via SMS.
How to add PayPal in the ryd app:

Open the ryd app.
Launch the ryd app on your smartphone and log in to your ryd account. Check to see if you have the latest version of the ryd app. -
Open your payment methods.
Go to Payment methods in your account and tap the option to add a new payment method. -
Select PayPal.
Tap PayPal. The ryd app will now establish a connection with PayPal. This may take a few seconds. -
Log in to PayPal.
You will be redirected to the PayPal login page. First, enter the email address or mobile number associated with your PayPal account and tap Next. -
Enter your PayPal password.
Check that the correct PayPal account is displayed, enter your password, and tap Log In. -
Verify your identity if required.
Depending on your PayPal security settings, PayPal may request an additional verification code. Enter the code you received and confirm the login.If you did not receive a code, you can request a new one once the displayed countdown has ended.

Wait for the connection to be completed.
After you have successfully logged in, you will automatically be redirected to the ryd app. The setup of your PayPal account will then be completed. -
Set a 4-digit PIN for payments.
Enter a four-digit PIN that you would like to use to confirm your future payments with ryd.This PIN is not your PayPal password. It is used in the ryd app to confirm your payments.

Confirm your PIN.
Enter the same PIN a second time to confirm it. -
Setup complete.
Once the setup has been completed successfully, your PayPal account will be displayed as a payment method.You can then:
- select Set as default if you want PayPal to be used automatically as your preferred payment method in the future, or
- tap Later if you want to save PayPal without setting it as your default payment method.
Manage or remove PayPal
Under Payment methods, open your linked PayPal account to view the payment method details.
From there, you can:
- set PayPal as your default payment method, or
select Remove to delete it from your ryd account.
If you add PayPal again later or set up your payment details again, you may be required to create a new PIN.
