💶 €1 Reservation: How the Pre-Authorization Works

To authenticate your chosen payment method, our payment provider reserves a small €1 transaction on your account after you enter your payment details. This is a standardized verification process (pre-authorization). Important: This is only a reservation and not an actual charge. The amount is not withdrawn, but automatically released back to you after a few days. You may see the amount as "reserved" or "pending" in your account history.

What happens with the €1?

After you select and confirm your payment method in the ryd app, you might see a reservation (pre-authorization) of €1 in your account history.

  • Purpose: This is a standard verification process used by our payment provider to ensure your account is active and authenticated.

  • No Charge: This is not an actual payment, but simply a reservation (also called pre-authorization). The amount is not withdrawn.

  • Release: The reservation is automatically released back to your account after a few days.

Important: The €1 amount is only shown as reserved, not as charged. You may see the amount as a "pending transaction" in your account history, but it will not appear on your final invoice.
