My money is authorized/ on hold, what now?

When a payment is authorized, it's just a temporary hold on the amount. You'll only be charged the actual final amount. For fuel, at Pre-Pay stations, the selected max amount is authorized, but you only pay for what you fuel. At Post-Pay stations, the exact amount is authorized and charged afterward. If a transaction fails, the authorized amount is released. For EV charging, the authorized amount remains until the transaction data is received.

Don't worry, this is a standard part of the process. An authorization is just a temporary hold on a specific amount. In the end, you will only be charged the actual final amount

Fuel

At Pre-Pay gas stations (e.g., Aral, Esso):

Here, you choose a maximum amount before fueling.

  • What happens: The selected maximum amount is authorized on your payment method to unlock the pump.

  • What gets charged: You only pay for what you actually fuel.

  • When will the difference be released? The difference between the authorized and the actual fuel amount will be released immediately by us. Depending on your payment provider, it may take a few days for the amount to be available again.

At Post-Pay gas stations:

Here, you fuel first and pay afterward.

What happens: After fueling, the exact final amount is authorized and then immediately charged.

What happens if a transaction fails?

Whether Pre-Pay or Post-Pay: If a payment fails, the amount will not be charged. The authorized amount will be released.

Important:

The duration of the release depends on the processing times of your payment provider (e.g., bank, PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay). However, it usually only takes a few days. The authorized amount will be automatically released no later than 30 days after the transaction.

EV Charging Transactions

Why is my charging transaction delayed?

If there's a delay in the billing, we're waiting for the transaction data from the local provider. Only after we receive this data can we calculate the final amount or initiate a cancellation.

Why is the amount still authorized?

Until we receive the transaction data, the amount must remain authorized on your payment method, as we must assume that billing will occur.

When will the amount be released?

The authorized amount will be released no later than 30 days after the transaction. If the data arrives later, we will notify you immediately.
