To find charging stations, you need a ryd account and must be logged into the ryd app. Otherwise, charging stations won’t be shown to you.
Find a charging station
Open the ryd app. Tap the green lightning bolt icon to see all charging stations near you.
Use the filter at the top right to filter stations by your connector type. All compatible charging stations nearby will be displayed.
Select a charging station to see details on availability, prices, and connector types.
Start a charging session1.
1. Drive to the charging station: Choose a compatible charging station and go there.
2. Select the connector: Once you’re at the charging station, the app will automatically detect your location. Here, you can select the connector you require.
3. Authorize the session: Check your selection (charging station, connector) and authorize your charging session.
For each charging session, an amount of €80 must be pre-authorized on your saved payment method. This is a temporary hold, not a charge.
Why? Don’t worry—this is a standard security measure. It ensures that not only the charging costs but also any potential parking fees are covered. In the end, only the actual amount incurred will be charged, and the pre-authorized amount will be released.
4. Connect your vehicle: Follow the instructions in the app to connect your vehicle.
5. Charging in progress: The session starts. You’ll see information such as duration, energy costs, and parking fees.
6. End the session: You can stop the charging session at any time directly in the app (removing the charging cable also stops the session). After confirming, you can unplug the cable. As soon as we receive the data from the charging station, your invoice will be sent to you by email and will also appear in your transaction history.
