Did my fueling transaction work? Here’s how to make sure.

Are you unsure whether your payment via ryd was successful? In this article, you’ll learn why neither the fuel pump resetting to zero nor a confirmation from your bank is enough. Only the “Payment successful” screen in the ryd app or the transaction appearing in your history counts as confirmation. Here’s how to make sure everything has been paid.

Everything worked? Your checklist for a stress-free fuel stop

When paying with ryd, several systems work together in the background. To make sure you can leave the fuel pump knowing that everything has been paid, please keep the following key points in mind:

1. The confirmation in the app is what matters

Please do not leave the gas station until you see the “Transaction successful!” screen with the green checkmark in the ryd app.

Important to know:

  • Fuel pump reset to zero? This only means that the fueling process has ended. It does not mean that ryd has successfully transmitted the payment to the gas station.
  • Received confirmation from your bank? If your banking app shows an authorization, the amount has only been reserved. The fuel bill is only actually paid once ryd confirms the transaction.

2. Check your history (your safety net)

If the app happens to freeze:

  • In the app, go to Profile > History.
  • Is the fueling transaction listed there? If so, everything is complete and you can download your receipt.
  • After a few minutes, you will receive your invoice in a separate email.

3. If something goes wrong: the ryd pay checklist

  • Internet: Is your connection stable?
  • Payment method: Did you still need to approve the payment in your banking app (3D Secure) and then return to ryd?
  • App version: Is your app up to date?

4. What should you do if you don’t receive a confirmation?

If no green checkmark appears and there is no entry in your history, please go briefly into the gas station shop. The staff can check whether the pump is still showing an outstanding payment. You can then pay directly at the station or leave your contact details to avoid misunderstandings (and payment reminders).
