Is the email confirmation from PayPal a confirmation that the transaction has been completed?
No, the PayPal confirmation is only a confirmation of the authorisation, NOT the payment.
A payment can still fail after authorisation. Therefore, always make sure that OUR app shows you the payment confirmation "Payment successful" and a green tick before you leave the gas station.
